Microsoft on Thursday unveiled its latest image-recognition technology, which will come soon to devices that operate on Windows 10. The technology is artificial intelligence-based and has been named as Story Remix App.
With the help of this app, users can add animation on the top of their videos that then move along with the action happening in the motion picture. Demonstrating the same, one of the Microsoft executives selected a video of a girl playing with a soccer ball. The executive then superimposed a fireball on the top the soccer ball, and it sailed towards the net.
Along with editing the videos, the Story Remix App will allow the users to search for images and videos based on people, places, and videos they contain. The feature already exists in Google Photos App and Apple’s Photos App.
Deep learning technique has been used in the making of the app. Deep Learning is a type of Artificial Intelligence that includes training computers on data and allowing them to make inferences on the new data. Also, there is a Cognitive Toolkit open source framework and several other Microsoft technologies in the app.
Microsoft previously used Deep Learning AI technique to translate spoken words in Skype and to write image description in Powerpoint application.
