Sygic uses augmented reality in their GPS navigation app
Augmented reality is being used in all app. There are many companies that are shifting to integrating AR feature in their app. The recent one to do so is Sygic. Sygic has released navigation app with AR feature that will improve the navigation experience on the road.
The new AR feature uses the smartphone’s GPS and camera to implement AR-enabled GPS navigation system. With the new app, the driver will no longer need to follow a map on their phone. They will be guided by a virtual path on the smartphone camera preview. The company said that this feature will also safer than the traditional navigation apps. This app will make sure that driver does not miss anything crucial on roads as real-time camera preview will enable them to check conditions on the screen without affecting the driving safety.
The AR feature which is called as Real View Navigation is available for both iOS and Android users with an in-app purchase of 9.99 EUR. Sygic was awarded as the most successful app by BBC and has more than 200 million users.
Certainly, and integration of AR technology to navigation app is not the next big thing but it can provide better driving experience and is also safer than the traditional navigation app. It will not be wrong to say that more and more companies are shifting to AR technology to provide the better experience to their user.
