Apple to guide people around city using augmented reality
Apple announced ARKit in its developer’s conference. Since then many developers have been working on new technology based on the ARKit technology. Apple aims at transforming entire user experience using AR technology. In the same approach, Apple has now turned its focus at maps app. The company has decided to leverage AR technology to give a new experience to iOS users.
Apple is rumored to be working on the mysterious 3D arrow for the Maps app. Apple is going to use this arrow for traditional turn-by-turn directions on top of a map with slight modifications. The Maps app is going to use iPhones camera. The user will have to tilt their phone in front of your face when they are using walking directions. But, still, there is no official confirmation about this one. One this is sure that, when it comes to new technology, Apple is good at hiding the details from the users until the final release.
Apple has already reviled that it plans to add detailed maps of airports and malls in the latest version of iOS. Since next version of iPhone is scheduled to be launched in September, it might come with the updated Maps technology. Don’t get surprised if iPhone will let you walk around an airport to find the nearest coffee shop using augmented reality.
