Samsung says that Bixby learns over time, recognizing "natural language" to make interacting with your phone easier. It understands cross-application commands and it can be accessed without any interruptions to what you're already doing on-screen. It means that you can lower the screen brightness while scrolling down Facebook simultaneously. The best thing about Bixby is that you can create your own voice commands.
Bixby is not quite the same as Google Assistant as it is more conversational and apologetic when it messes up. It is a voice-activated virtual assistant that truly aims to please. Samsung recently unveiled a Bixby-powered smart speaker and is already working on a range of smart appliances. The company wants to power whole homes with its voice assistant. But the only limitation is that Bixby only recognizes English and Korean. Samsung has assured that it’ll get additional language support with time.
Samsung is trying to establish itself in the AI market but it will have to overcome the likes of Google Home or Amazon Alexa. Now, only time will tell whether Samsung is able to achieve what it thought or not.
