Pimax unveils accessories for its 8K VR headset

Pimax (a Chinese VR headset manufacturer) unveiled many high-tech accessories that can be used in conjunction with the company’s upcoming 8K VR headset. The VR headset has already created lots of buzz among the VR developers as the company boasts that headset has 200 degrees of field of vision. The VR headset also has a staggering 3840×2160 per eye resolution because of its dual LED display.

Some of the VR accessories includes eye-tracking, inside-out hand-tracking, wireless transmitter, cooling fan, prescription glasses frame, scent enabling the module, halo styled headband with integrated head strap and audio support. These things are everything that a VR enthusiast could have asked for. Among all the accessories scent module is the most curious one and act as an oil diffuser with a built-in fan. It will have a small number of ‘scent cartridges’ which will get activated during specific points during the VR experience. This will also include integrated battery and Bluetooth radio. Pimax has also integrated Valve’s Lighthouse positional tracking along with their own optical tracking system.

Some of the key specifications of the 8K VR headsets are-

  1. 200-degree field of vision

  2. 3840*2160 resolution with more than 16 million pixels

  3. Less than 15ms latency

  4. Two 3.5 mm audio jack along with stereo sound earphone and an integrated microphone.

Pimax has still not revealed any detailed specification about the headsets or the accessories. Pimax has tried to use all the best features from HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift. The company has also not revealed the release date for the company’s 8K VR headset.
