HTC announced several changes to the Viveport at this year’s Virtual Reality Developers Conference, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the app store. Now, developers will be able to get 100% of the revenue share between October and the end of the year. The company also launched a new toolset called Viveport Scene SDK. Viveport Arcade Manager enters open beta.
According to the HTC, this is the company’s way of thanking all the developers who are continuously working hard to the VR apps and games of the Vivestore. This means that now is a great time develop some great apps and games for HTC VIVE platform and earn money from that. This new initiative will also encourage new developers to shift to HTC VIVE platform rather than others.
Viveport Arcade Manager which is a content management system for out-of-home VR entertainment setups is being launched worldwide as an open beta. The company has also increased the developer’s revenue from 50% to 75% to encourage more developers to develop VR content for HTC VIVE.
Viveport scene SDK is also available now which allows developers to create immersive previews for VR content. Viveport Scene will allow developers to easily create interactive and real 3D environments streamed dynamically to the viewer. This will also allow developers to create immersive 360 preview images that surround the user as they browse.
It is looking like HTC is nor trying to put all their focus on VIVE business as they want to capture more market and dominate the competitors.
