We all enjoyed Crytek’s-The Climb. But who wouldn't want a little more adventure and story to it? And if that is the case, Cloudborn might just be for you.
Cloudborn, a climbing-focused virtual reality adventure game, is a breathtaking journey and is also the first title release out of Logtown Studios that released in the early September this year. This game revolves around the curiosity that we all had as children. It is Bright, colorful, exciting to explore and has been built from the ground up with accessibility in the mind, therefore, providing different options for the players. Right from arm swinging movement to dash teleport or the traditional FPS sliding, the number of movements in the game provides the player's with a more comfortable experience no matter what their physical makeup or level of VR experience is. The game has been developed for use with tracked controllers, and also has various options for playing. Whether it be a standing, seated or room scaled setup.
Set in parts that are unknown to the player, It is a captivating first-person experience with an adventure title where the players scale and climb the world of the game and explore ancient ruins, looking for the remains of a lost civilization by clambering up walls and taking leaps between vines as the player ascends. This game is also balanced by a very strong focus on Motion sickness that allows it to reach the level of comfort for the users. Currently, having 6 levels that feature a unique momentum system, the VR based game allows the players to throw themselves into the world of wonder and even climb faster along the way.
Over the course of an Early Access, the developer now plans to add even more levels to the game and as well as polish the climbing system for launch in a time of three to six months. A PSVR version is also planned that is to come later. It can now be said that the VR is exactly where it should be and the experience it is providing to us is improving at an amazing pace.
And Cloudborn, thus aims at not only being a visually stylized experience, but also a unique and melancholic journey of discovery and serenity.
