ZephVR launches Kickstarter campaign with its Breezy VR product
There is no doubt that VR has been on the rise in recent times. The main reason behind this is that VR can be highly immersive with just HMD (Head-mounted Display) and some microcontrollers and a headphone. It can add whole new dimension to your experience. But, now companies have decided to go beyond the normal HMD and develop accessories for the headsets. In the same approach, ZephVR has come with as extraordinary headset add-on.
ZephVR attaches to popular headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and automatically adds wind to any video game. ZephVR has been developed by Weasel Labs. They managed to develop this product using machine learning. The accessories recognize the events in the title track and activate the two fans at just the right moment. For example, if you seeing a player flying, the fans can accelerate and you will actually feel like you are flying.
Sean Spielberg (company’s cofounder and CEO) said,” ZephVR can transform any VR experience into a multi-sensory and more immersive adventure. Wind is one of the most crucial elements in turning a game into a reality. But, experiences which incorporate wind have only been available at theme parks and exhibitions.” He also added that this is just the beginning and he aims to add other feature which can give more sensations like a change in temperature, rain, vibration and much more.
Weasel Labs has launched the campaign on Kickstater seeking to raise $30,000 USD. According to few sources, the company has managed to raise more than $35,000 USD. You will have to pledge a minimum of $49 for the early bird offer which is compatible with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift while the PlayStation version will cost $79.
