Intel announces X299 HEDT platform that could support up to 18 cores

Intel is known for keeping up with the market demands. The technology is moving at a great speed. There are many applications based on AI, AR, and VR that requires faster processing speed.

Intel has released high-end X299 Platform and core-X series of processors. The company has launched a spectacular 18-core CPU, the i9-7980XE.

This new processor will cost around $1999 USD.

This money might seem too much for the regular user but Intel has the solution for this also. The i9-7980XE will have an entire range of processors. This will be available in 4,6,8,10,12,14,16 core variants also.

The 8-core variant of i7-7820X and i7-7800X will be available at $599 USD and $389 USD.

All the CPU will be fully multiplier unlocked. It means that you could easily overclock the CPU.

Intel also said that this new series of the processor will have a better power saving capabilities. This will surely give a tough competition to AMD in the market.

According to the Intel officials, the company is focusing on to keep up with the changing market need. The processor needs to be improved in order to deal with the heavy load due to technologies like AI and machine learning.
